FAQ's
Admissions & Enrolment
How do I apply for admission?
Applications to join Reception in September, or to join any other year group 'in-year', should be submitted to the Richmond Admissions Department:AfC Admissions
Applications for Stanley Preschool are managed by the school.
Places in The Peartree Centre, our Resourced Provision, are allocated by Achieving for Children, not the school. Children attending Stanley do not have priority for places in the Peartree Centre.
Please see our Admissions page for all other information.
Can students join mid-year?
Yes, children can join mid-year. However, this does depend on spaces available. Please contact the main school office to find out if there are spaces for the year you wish your child to join into.
Do you offer school tours or open days?
There will be a series of parent open mornings for prospective parents of children coming into Reception and Pre-School in September. You can register your interest in attending or book to attend an open morning here.
For in-year admissions you can request a school tour by emailing our main school office.
How will I know if my application has been successful?
If you are applying for your child to start in Pre-School, then the school will contact you to let you know that your application has been successful.
If you are applying for your child to start in Reception, or you have applied for an in-year admission, then the Richmond Admissions Department will contact you regarding the outcome of your application.

Reception, Y1 & Y2: 08:50 - 15:15

What happens if my child arrives late?
If your child arrives after 8:50am, they must enter through the main office. You will need to sign them in using the sign-in tablet so staff are aware they have arrived safely. This is extremely important, as we must have an accurate record of all students on site in the event of a fire drill or emergency evacuation.
Is there before-school or after-school care?
We offer Breakfast and After-school care, known as Wraparound. Breakfast Club runs from 07:30 until 08:45. There are two options for after-school care. Long Wraparound starts straight from school at 15:30 and runs until 18:00. Short Wraparound runs from 16:30 (typically after an extra-curricular club) until 18:00. For all other info, please read through our Wraparound page.
What is the procedure for student absence/illness?
If your child is absent due to illness, the school office and absence team must be notified as soon as possible. Please contact us either by email at info@stanley.richmond.sch.uk or by telephone on 020 8977 4858.
If your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, they must remain off school for 48 hours after the last episode.
If you need to request a special leave of absence for your child, please visit the school reception to complete an “Application for Leave of Absence in Exceptional Circumstances” form. This will then be reviewed by the Headteacher and the Absence/Welfare Officer.
